About
Me My new grandson, Elliott, only one day old. My name is Diana Barefoot. All my life I have loved drawing, painting and sculpting. I majored in art at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and studied almost exclusively under acclaimed sculptor, Peter Agostini, for two years. I graduated with a passion for life sculpture, painting and drawing. Life intervened, though, and along with many adventures (it was the 60's, you know!), I had four babies in six years and was off and running, taking care of my family. After that, I found a love for teaching and have been teaching children from the ages of 4 to 12 for the past 25 years, always finding a way to use my love for art in the classroom. This past summer, I
had a fourth surgery on my foot in two years, and, about to go nuts, I
had to find something that would keep me occupied! That's when I
discovered the magic of polymer clay. It helped that my daughter had a
new baby, with whom I was totally in love, and I had to find a way to
express my joy in him. I started to sculpt mini babies, and was
completely hooked after making the first one.
